Edwin founded SolarPlaza company in 2004. He is a senior PV expert and started in the photovoltaic solar energy business in 1994. He has experience as a solar energy consultant and project developer in more than 200 PV projects. Edwin holds a Master’s degree in Chemical engineering and previously worked in the Chemical industry before starting his first consultancy company in PV in 1994.

Sam Wilkinson is a Research Manager for the Solar and Energy Storage Research group at IHS Technology. During his time working within the group, Sam has been responsible for researching the PV inverter market and the PV module and poly-silicon supply chain working closely with leading global suppliers to develop detailed analysis on these markets. Sam has also been responsible for establishing primary research reports focusing on solar demand and policy, complementing IHS extensive research of the complete PV supply chain. Building on his experience in the solar research team, Sam established and now leads IHS Technology’s coverage of energy storage, covering a wide range of topics within this fast developing sector. Sam’s analysis and commentary is regularly published by leading PV and energy industry media and also the global press. He has also presented at many leading industry events and conferences. Before beginning his career at IHS, Sam worked as a Structural Engineer for one of Europe’s leading engineering firms. He graduated from The University of Nottingham with a degree in Engineering.

Miriam van Ee started her career with NautaDutilh in May 1998 and joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2008 as a partner in the corporate and M&A practice with a focus on the energy sector.
Miriam is specialised in M&A, financing, restructuring, securities, corporate, contract and energy law. She has broad experience and in depth knowledge of domestic and cross border mergers & acquisitions, de-mergers, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, insolvencies, (acquisition) structuring, restructuring, commercial (energy) agreements and (project/acquisition) financing.
In addition to the aforementioned transaction expertise, Miriam is specialised in the structuring of energy projects through the planning and construction phase, commissioning, operation and maintenance with respect to a variety of technologies such as wind, solar, biomass and heat projects. She has also in depth experience in local energy production and integration of energy solution in buildings.
Miriam is admitted to practice law in the Netherlands. She holds degrees from Utrecht University in notarial law and civil law (cum laude) and spent two years (2002 and 2003) working in the Corporate and Finance practice in London.

Werner Coppye is a co-founder and the Chief Technological Officer of 3E, responsible for the definition and the implementation of the technology roadmap of the company’s business units. Since 1999, Werner has been actively involved in the company’s business development in energy systems for the built environment, solar and wind energy technical advisory work and product development of the SynaptiQ software platform for renewable energy asset management. Before creating 3E as an IMEC spin-off in 1999, Werner was the R&D manager at Philips Hearing Implants, responsible for the development of the terminal equipment for the fitting of cochlear implants. He previously was a project manager at IMEC in Leuven, first active in the optimisation of high yield crystalline silicon solar cells and later in the study of photovoltaic solar energy systems. Werner is co-author of several publications in international publications and is also regularly invited as guest lecturer on sustainable energy concepts. He graduated as an electro-technical engineer in micro-electronics from the “KU Leuven” (Catholic University of Leuven Belgium) in 1992.

Wim Sinke (1955) is Manager Program Development at ECN Solar Energy in Petten, The Netherlands, part-time professor Photovoltaic Energy Conversion at the University of Amsterdam and board member of the TKI Urban Energy (the Netherlands public-private partnership for energy innovation in the urban environment, including solar energy). He is also visiting scientist at research institute AMOLF in Amsterdam and co-chairman of the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Photovoltaics (ETIP PV).
Wim Sinke studied experimental physics at Utrecht University, where he graduated in 1981. He did PhD research at AMOLF and received a doctor’s degree from Utrecht University in 1985 for a thesis entitled “New physical processes for silicon solar cells”. From 1986 to 1987 he was a visiting scientist at the Hitachi Central Research Laboratory in Tokyo, where he worked on thin-film silicon. In 1987 he re-joined AMOLF to work on crystalline silicon solar cells, material properties of amorphous silicon, and ion and laser processing of semiconductors. In 1990 he moved to the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands ECN to set up a new group on photovoltaics (PV). This group has grown to a size of 80 staff and covers a range of topics, including wafer-based silicon and thin-film solar cells and modules, environmental and economic analyses of PV, and PV applications.
Wim Sinke has been, and still is member of a number of national and international advisory committees in the field of solar energy, renewable energy and related topics. He has published hundreds of scientific and popular papers on all aspects of solar energy.
Wim Sinke has received several prestigious awards, including the Royal Dutch/Shell Prize for Sustainability and Energy in 1999 and the European Becquerel Prize for outstanding merits in photovoltaics in 2011. In 2015 he was appointed a Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion for his contributions to the development and promotion of solar energy.
